Don"t vomit on the page for the essay. Terror of the french revolution and the enlightenment. The opposition of faith and enlightenment, the opposition ends up in a false polarization. Enlightenment does not understand faith, and this faith business ties itself to a god and finds a text and calls it historical. It must be a negation of the approach, it cannot accept the same premises. Faith buys into the enlightenment project, proof of historical scientific, enlightenment sets up a standard, we aren"t even playing the same game. When faith accepts the basis of rationality it fails to differentiate. En cannot allow us to feel home in the world. Ends with a way of thinking which sees people as mere instuments. Results in the vanishing of individuality, does not go past alienation. Not the opposites they are taken to be. Cannot have a one-sided perspective, going over the history of religion to show it ends up in the same point.
