Harper has a platonic aitude which is diferent from the liberal internaionalism which looks at compromise. This lost canada many votes and lost the seat on the un security council. He eventually backed of and didn"t hold his strong hold on this and maintained important trade deals with china. People criicized harper"s stance and believed he was not sympatheic to cultural diferences in china. Withdrew from kyoto protocol on climate change plan. Withdrew from convenion to batle deseriicaion (unable to grow food and cause of poverty that is caused by climate change) Changing role and narraive: canada as a courageous warrior .
