Document Summary
Psychosis break from reality / lack of connection to reality. This disconnection can be diffusing or highly specific and traumatic or very subtle. Schizophrenia means split mind (often confused with multiple personalities, but it does not involve this) It refers to a split between mind and reality. Positive behaviours that are added (things that the person does not normally do) Often alarm others, but can be less of a problem when compared to negative symptoms. Negative behaviours that are removed/dropped out (things that they use to normally do but do not do anymore) Often believed to be the core of the disorder. Disordered thinking thinking that begins to break up and become all over the place . Hallucinations sensing something that is not there in reality (visual, auditory, sematic) Delusions beliefs that do not have a basis in reality. Flat effect absence of emotions or emotions are empty or unreal (insincere)
