Developmental Science
Science of human development : seeks to understand how and why
people of all ages and circumstances change or remain the same over
time.
Why do parents care about children firsts ?
-Believing they are doing something right.
Context effects
Individual differences are based on context effects.
Cohort effects : The time of your birth has an immense impact on
development.
A new stage - Emerging Adulthood (cohort effect)
Stage where adults are not married, don’t have children and are
exploring.
Other Contexts
Socio - economic status (SES)
SES can be high (well off) and low (poverty).
