Look at various student living in an apartment. The results showed that attraction and propinquity rely on physical distance and functional distance (how likely you are to cross paths) Planted a female in a large university classroom. The female did not interact with either professors/students. The female would differ in the number of class (15-0 classes) At the end of the semester students were asked to rate how much they like/attractive. The more the female were saw, the higher the ratings: similarity. Studies have found that similarity is in important predictor for friendships and relationships. Attitudes, values, attachment style, leisure activities, interpersonal style, communication skills. Students at a dance were paired with each other at random. They had previously taken a personality and aptitude test.
