Assessed them @ 2 diff times high stress & low stress period. Blood sample to find immune markers (e. g. killers t-cells; cell-mediated immune functioning) Also asked to fill out questionnaire (how stress _ lonely they were in past yr ) E. g. day b4 wedding like 3 month can be a significant context to immune system function. Kermery et al (1989) studies ppl w/t genital herpes. Blood test for helper t cells (i. e. cd4 t; cell mediated immune function) Monitored stress events & upcoming (e. g. dates, weddings) Adult men kept daily logs of + or events" diaries (e. g. exams, bad work; parties) Saliva samples for antibody content (y-shaped proteins binds to invader; humoral-mediated immune functioning) So,,, stress neg. emotion but positive can boost immune system .
