Lying (cogniive skill) involves more regions of the frontal lobes. Tom: understand that others have diferent thoughts, beliefs, and desires to ones self and others. Execuive funcioning: complex processes involving the frontal lobes for the organizaion and control of behavior (ef is important for decision to lie and maintain lying) A good tom is needed in order to tell a lie bc you know you can insill a false belief in another. A more sophisicated tom is required to maintain semanic leakage control. Irst order tom: reasoning about what someone else thinks (what does a think is in the box?) To tell a lie, they must understand that another person can hold false belief. Kids who perform beter on tom tasks are more likely to tell a lie in a trp.
