Fresh water ecosystems: water and the hydrologic cycle, water"s distribution on earth, use and alteration of freshwater systems, problems of water supply and solutions, problems of water quality and solutions, how wastewater is treated. Turning the tap: the prospect of canadian bulk water exports (book) The wars of the 21st century will be fought over water . Freshwater systems: water may seem abundant, but drinkable water is rare. Freshwater = relatively pure, with few dissolved salts. Rivers and streams wind through landscape: water from rain, snowmelt, or springs forms streams, creeks, or brocks, these merge into rivers and eventually reaches the ocean. A smaller river flowing into a larger one.
