Document Summary
Trying to advert governments from the additives used in tobacco (flavours) 1998 settlement where all tobacco research had to be made popular internal studies = any side effects (cancer, genes) Phillip morris published 4 articles in the journal food & chemical toxicology in. 2002: everyone could read it, no real toxicity within the specific additives that were put into tobacco. They concluded that after analyzing 51 tobacco additives there was no substantial toxicity associated with their use in tobacco products. Wertz et al. (2011) re-analysed their original raw data and reached different results. They found that 15 of the carcinogenic (potiential cancer forming) additives were present by 20% larger amounts than published by philip morris, especially in the case of acrolein. Wertz et al (2011) noted that many of the additives increased the amount of total. Without the additives, no way around the chemicals due to combustion.
