The structure of the household is not fixed over time: varied family based household structures, ~25% of people live in a household that is comprised of a couple with children, ~30% of people live in a household that is comprised of a couple without children, ~ 25% of people live in a household that is comprised of one person, ~10% of people live in a household that is comprised of a lone parent family, ~3% of people live in a household that is comprised of multiple family household, multiple family households (note: much more common cross culturally, multiple family households typically have a father son/mother daughter core link/sibling ties (i. e. sisters and their partners and children in the same household), can also be formed through plural marriage (polygamy), either a polygynous family (male with more than one partner) or, polyandrous family (a woman and more than one partner)
