Race: an idea and social construct: transatlantic slave trade, cultural genocide of first nations, anti-chinese racism. Racism an ideology that maintains that one (cid:498)race(cid:499) is inherently superior to another. Includes processes of racialization, which can be negative and/or positive (includes even the colour symbolisms of black and white, which get attached to human groups) It posited ideas about race, racial purity, superiority and inferiority. These ideas were argued to be (cid:498)natural(cid:499) and established by god and/or nature. Dominated ideas about race and racial purity, superiority an inferiority. Posited (cid:498)natural(cid:499) categories on a hierarchy established by god or nature: women were below horses on this hierarchy.
