Culture according to: anthropology: the way of life of people, humanities: high culture (best of the best) - the best that has been thought and known . Symbol systems: represent thinking, feeling, behaviour (involves meaning) Symbols (and their meaning): things that represent something else (involves meaning) Cultural object have meaning beyond their material reality (eg dogs, tattoos: dogs can be seen as . Service: tattoos can now be seen as a connection between loved ones and they tell a story. They aren"t just ink on the skin: behaviour is meaningful too (eg. winking, flirting, jokes, saying hello, behaviours take on particular meanings in particular social contexts, cultural sociology describes and analysis these systems of meaning.
