Application of theories was done poorly on the exam . Functionalism-functionalist perspective, function working harmoniously together (na ve group, everything is happy and good) e. g. prostitution- seen as a good thing "homeostasis", stability", balance/working together. Symbolic interactionists- micro theory (not scale of society), about the meaning", attachment" e. g. families. Feminist theory- umbrella term, based on equality around gender, few waves intersectionality", e. g. concern over wage gap between men and women. Post- structuralism- discourse", how discourses shape our ideas about something. Being a good parent" either measure up or you don"t. Social relations shape our bodies (do things that are not gender based) These relations are always in tension (post structural)- can always resist. Struggle for control (e. g. legislation that controls women"s access to abortion, or gender reassignment surgery.
