Research can be objective, un biased (researcher did not infuse research) Process of deduction: develop a theory from other research, develop hypotheses, sample, design, collect data and conduct statistical analyses. Wanted to know the factors that went into self-satisfaction. Arguing that women who work experience stress due to role strain". Hypothesis that women who have child will experience high levels of stress. Gave survey to working women, analyzed and found out that working outside the home did not increase stress. Says too little about too much of social life. Cant explain complicated processes in the context of everyday life.
