Course objecives: the purpose of this course is to provide future leaders and managers with knowledge about sport policy and how canada"s sport system is afected by all three levels of government (local, provincial/territorial, and federal). In the course, we will uncover how policy making, implementaion, and evaluaion are addressed at the local government (i. e. , mostly in the hamilton and niagara region), provincial/territorial government (i. e. , mostly in ontario), and federal government levels. Students will be exposed to the evoluion of sport policy at the federal level and how this evoluion has resulted in sport legislaion and the canadian sport policy. Students will also be exposed to the interorganizaional relaionships that occur between government units and nonproit sport organizaions (in local, provincial/territorial, and naional levels).
