Megaliths: large stone used to make structure or monument alone with other stone without mortar/ cement, most date to neolithic and early bronze, dolmen structure: the most ancient form of megalithic construction. Usually used as a burial chamber: menhir: upright stone, usually placed with others in circle, ring of brodgar (scotland), tiya (ethiopia), stonehenge and avebury (england), carnac (france) Easter island moai: more than 1000 on island. Dated 1250-1500 years old: they were found to have bodies and were thought to be gods, most look inside except 7 that look out to the harbour, they were dragged on timbers. What are archaeologists looking for: 5 kinds of human behaviour, settlements patterns, technology, subsistence, social organization (was there someone in charge? or is it a communal?, ideology.
