As a specific product of a sociocultural and historic body. If it isn"t just given, but a product. It could be a cultural or a symbolic. Hard to think of an abstract body. Hard to think of a body specific to a certain size. The body is a tomb of the soul. In the descartes sense, it is hard to define the body: various cultures has different ideas. Cannot visualize two different bodies at the same time. A make up covered a mans tattoo head to toes and our idea of him changed. When he took off his tattoo, our idea change. He creates an identity by tattooing his body. The make up is what society wants him to look like. Symbolic dimension is extending the body beyond the body. Social body: body decoration, both physical, social and symbolic. Body decoration is a means through which social identities are constructed and expressed.
