Caeca (caecum)- break food inside there, for digesting food further. Just like moose they process their food twice. Their digestive tract is about 26% of their total weight. The larger the digestive tract they have the larger the sa. Large gapes- opening of mouth- gulp them done. Some birds can swallow fruits with seeds inside, gets pooped out after eating it through intestines. Animals that eat the pulp (flesh) and pass out the seeds are seed dispersers blackbears. Bear droppings seed eaters are seed predators pulp , inside seeds- source of food evening grosbeak. American goldfinches have fine bills for tiny seeds-thistle seeds. Use their incisors to bite off the scales. Blue jays have another way of opening acorns. Smashing it open, like a woodpecker, hammered bw its toes.
