1.List six products that could utilize GIS and/or GPS
1. Pet Health Smart Collar
-Track meal plans/schedules and diet of animals
- Track various activity related to an animal’s physical health and activeness
2. At Home GPS Monitor
- Track and monitor pets when left at home, monitor their behaviour, safety
and etc.
3. GPS Tracker for lost pets
- Provides geolocation and time information related to lost pets (may
provide information on common types of pets or breeds that are most
common to run away)
4. Navigation app (For walking the dog)
-Creating an app known as naviGRO to keep the steps of the owners and
the animals step for health. It is a good app in order to know their pets
health and also the owner’s fitness.
5. Transport route planning
-calculate the fastest route to our store from any location.
6. Track competitor’s customer volume
-What other stores are our customers visiting
2.Convince petGRO that building a GIS and/or GPS capability into its products would
provide valuable BI. What would you recommend they track? How would the capability
be provided?
Pet Health Smart Collar & Pet Collar Tracker
-Having a GIS and/or GPS capability allows for petGRO to provide a greater
product with much more value.
-Tracking the activity of the pets will allow PetGro to tailor its meal plans to the
level of physical health of each pet.
-The example mentioned could be tracked through a GPS capability built in to a
pets collar that connects to the owners phone, in which the two sources will help
track the pets diet (from the help of the owner) and various health and fitness
activity associated with the pet.
