The gender-typed toy was assessed using a parent-report questionnaire. A gender difference in colour was present between the ages 2-3 years old. Gender- typed color preferences were largely uncorrelated with gender-typed toy and activity preferences. The findings where that sociocognitive influences and playing with gender-typed toys contribute to the toddler"s gender-typed colour preferences. It adds another dimension to the children picking coloured toys aspect as it is very important to know if the parents are a factor of the child"s colour choosing abilities.
