Aeneid 7: allecto"s visits: amata > spinning top, turnus > boiling cauldron, anchises" dogs, who causes uproar among the country folk > waves in the wind. Turnus, chimaera on helmet, io on shield. Founders in this ktistic epic: aeneas > roman people, hercules > aventine, evander > palatine, romulus > capitoline, augustus > restorer of rome. Aeneid 8: aeneas on the site of rome. Character opposing aeneas" mission: first half of epic: dido, second half: turnus. Saturn, the golden age in the distant past. Pallas, his son > patroklos (early death) Aeneas > achilles (out for revenge for comrade) Turnus > hektor (stripped and wore the armour)
