Discuss these in relation to our understanding of communication and science. A new story or blog post doesn"t go back to original study. this can promote dangerous misinformation. Many studies are tested on animals only, this is not discussed on media outlets. Headlines can be misleading, even if context has some credible information. Many people only remember the title of an article. It will give a first-hand account of the study, and less mistakes will be made because the information doesn"t have as many opportunities to be simplified before it gets to the journalist. Have to hire journalist that can understand science research, this will limit the amount of journalists able to write articles about scientific research, thus reducing profits for a paper. How to convince people the importance of teaching evolution: people most convinced by the argument that evolutionary science is a modern building block for medicine, and reassurances that teaching evolution doesn"t have to conflict with religious beliefs.
