When movies are turned into games and vice versa, they"re never identical. Critiques: he"s working with an outdated narrative (i. e. : star wars) and his definition of narrative is outdated; it"s based on a definition by. Aristotle and based on this idea that there must be a beginning, middle, end and a narrator: juul also seems to think that a narrative itself is a medium, which he confuses in some of his writing. Narrative is a form of expression, and it is a cognitive structure as well. Our experiences in life are a narrative; they fit in the context of our lives. He seems to think that if games are a narrative medium then all games have to have a narrative/storyline, however this is untrue and this applies to books and film as well. These different style structures can affect the discourse of the story, or the story itself.
