Mechanical society: underdeveloped/primitive society, cultural norms, with division of labour = organic society, organic society; specialized separate communities. Not same degree of social solidarity; people don"t know everyone in the same way. Functions: bring us together-acceptable verse is unacceptable, law-abiding public.
