The article conflicts as property frames how our legal system should be changed to a more socially based system where the conflicts are dealt with between the people facing the disagreement. The author, nils christie, provides examples of the social system of restorative justice in tanzania to confirm that it works. The five elements that outline the framework of conflict solution are; 1. the parties, the former lovers, were in the centre if the room and in the centre of everyone"s attention. They talked often and were eagerly listened to. Close to them were relatives and friends who also took part. There was also participation from the general audience with short questions, information, or jokes. The judges, three local party secretaries, were extremely inactive. They were obviously ignorant with regard to village matters. All the other people in the room were experts on norms as well as actions.
