New technology allows for bullying to last 24hrs. Separation from school and home doesn"t exist anymore. Cyber bullying is willful and repeated harmful through electronic messaging. Needs to involve harmful behaviour in repeated fashion. Teenagers are constantly connected to the internet so antagonism is constant and never ending. Males tend to be more often the perpetrators of physical violence while women use psychological methods. Men have more favourable views of bullying than women. More and more teens and preteens are using social media and acquiring cell phones. More long term and psychological effects compared to traditional. Kids online persona is very closely tied to their identity so its impossible to expect them to log off. Most bullying was in chat rooms at the time. People dealt with it by staying offline or removing themselves from the conversation. Fb, text and twitter was most common in 2015.
