Economy: could avoid risks of high costs due to loods and other natural disasters. Community: natural areas beneit plants, animals, and people. Protect habitat (restore damaged habitats and leave undeveloped areas alone) Floodplains: land that is likely to be looded in a given storm event. Site disturbance: amount of site ecology that is uprooted by construcion acivity. Site selecion, density, transportaion, storm water, heat island, light polluion Structural control: earth dike, silt fence, sediment trap. Community connecivity: amount of connecivity between site and surrounding community, measured by proximity to homes, schools, stores, and other ameniies. 4 c"s of community: (1)content; (2)context; (3) connecivity; (4)coninuity. Diversity of uses of housing types: number of types of spaces/housing per acre. Diversity of housing types/sizes promotes people of diferent income levels to share space mixed use.
