Justice approach is shown in kant and mill. (traditional western liberal theory) Bair talks a lot about and works with gilligan. Justice and ethics of care depends on emphasis and tone. (what"s missing?) We don"t have to tie care to women and justice to men. Gilligan is a moral psychologist and had a large influence on moral philosophy. He developed a way of thinking about moral development. 2. conventional level (infant learns rules, norms of society) connects to relativism. 3. postconventional level (where reason is used to determine rules and principles of morality) kant and mill. Gilligan interviews women and mirrors stages of this moral development. Gilligan focuses on two 11 year olds amy and jake. Heinz has a wife that is dying, there is a drug that saves her but heinz can"t afford the drug. Should heinz steal the drug to save his wife"s life? . Jake says that"s easy, saving a life is more important than stealing.
