Document Summary

Rock strength can show how resistant rock will be to breaking down. Rocks have black spots and some are crystalline (small, shiny transparent structures called crystals may be embedded in rocks) Some are characterized by fossils, can be a trace or some remainings. Rock is composed of compacted sand that is abundant at the beach. Water is emerging from underground causing a change in environmental condition, pressure and temperature are different. Second rock is mostly made up of calcite. Wait for lava to cool down and we examine sample and we have a rock. Descriptive classification: based on shape, rock has crystals in it, or fossils in it, they can have names based on that, limitations: such a wide diversity of rocks, too complicated. Genetic classifications: based on process of formation or origin and not how it looks, all rocks that share same process of formation, you group them together.
