Hist September 9 2011 Berlin wall built 1961, but this divide existed throughout eastern/western Europe. Symbol of difference in ideologies. Idealism appeared in graffiti on the walls in the 90’s. Europe can live in peace, and Germany is once again united (or so these pieces of the wall show). Europe in 1914/contemporary Europe (capitals/countries) 2 changes to the map, Kosovo, and monenago (sp?) What is history? -how would you describe history. Class: -story of the past -based on opinion/perspectives -collection of past people/events in the eyes of the people who have interpreted it -facts about the past -foundation of the future (a lesson to all) -the story of the winners -what is the motivation behind the interpretation/original source -is it romanticized? -collection of primary/secondary accounts -changes in the past that have affected the present -the study of knowledge of the past (IMPORTANT EVENTS) -PR
