A thousand of books have been published on commonly- believed facts"" , but it is non- knowledge, rumors, The myth created over the years is that eskimos have a lots of words for snow"". According to laura martin, the theory is false. Misinformation carried around pushed a linguist, whorf to carry the false information in an article. Martin fought to kill the myth, but it is impossible to change everyone"s mind, on a false fact generally accepted as interesting. It started from an example in an article describing the difference between the english language, which uses root words, such as snow; to form other words, such as falling snow etc. A comparison to eskimo language was made to show that they don"t use a root word like us: snow is aput, and falling snow is gana.
