I will present to you some introductory interventions made by scholars writing on human rights and critiquing them. Based on the readings you had to do today, i will give you a rudimentary picture of the extent to which human rights principles are perfectly applicable today. Both lynn hunt and eric posner allude to the argument that human rights principles have either been unsuccessful in achieving their objectives or there is still hope if we change the way these mechanisms operate.
