Basic question: how does the rule of law work to undermine social morals: hart: need not be a connection between morals and law. Rule of law poses a danger to the systematic understanding of fundamental rights. Legal positivism: separation thesis; no connection between laws and morals. Social fact thesis: laws are human made; especially morals of authoritarian figures. Legal obligation: law is a source of obligations: provides duties. There is often a disconnect between attitudes of wicked officials and that of citizens in a given society.
