Secondary sources are important to look at because it provides another point of view. Back up our primary sources by providing more information and insight. Gives another opinion in opposition of our claims (this shows legitimacy: it is important to point out opposition claims since it provides more solidity to our claims. Helps us to realize why our research question is important to answer. Currently, at the second year level we should be able to; generate a research questions that others are talking about, recognize the importance of our question and what other people think about it. We evaluate secondary sources in two different stages: preliminary screens. Date of publication: is the publication out of date or a classic: analysis of the substance of the argument: how the author actually advances their argument. When reading a secondary source we should be able to recognize; Their different claims: claims should have reasons and evidence for that reasons behind them.
