Mania: is when mood is elevated to the point of euphoria or even delirium such that it impairs daily functioning. It is characterized by one or more manic episode accompanied by period of depression. Sadness is an emotional pain and a natural consequence of difficult situations which we cannot run away from or fight and must instead wait it out. Transitions to a pathological state, depression when we loose sight of its time limited nature and we move into a state of learned helplessness. You start thinking that there is no end to it and accept fate basically. There are many symptoms that come when you suffer with depression.
