Each individual scored on a given measure of behavior: correlational research. Each individual scored on at least two measures of behavior, to determine if the variables are correlated. One group, two scores for each individual. Establish that a relationship exists between variables: describe (not explain) the nature of the relationship. Demonstrate that a relationship between the two variables exist: no manipulation or control of the variables, no assigning individuals into groups or treatment conditions, does not determine cause-and-effect relationship. Line of best fit is a regression line. Line equation to predict the criterion variable. Relationship between variables: calculate correlation coefficient to describe the relationship.
