Suicide : “Fail to live an extended life”
By committing suicide you guarantee to deny one life. The life that ends in suicide aka the abbreviated life, according
to Scho, is less, not worth it.
Worth Living
. extended life (more worth -i.e. less not worth-living)
. abbreviated life (less worth -i.e. more not worth living)
NBA players
. KG (taller)
. Dave (shorter)
Thus, in Scho’s view, one is forced to choose a path; if the requirements for living are not meant; end it!
Schopenhauer’s view solves the problem for overpopulation
Thomas Nagel “Neeeeegro Atheist"
Life is absurd = doesn’t matter = isn’t worth living = there is no meaning of life = Nihilism
The Termporal Argument
P1 : If there’s an immanent meaning of life, then life must have consequences that reach forever into
the future of the immanent realm.
P2 : Life can’t have consequences that reach forever into the future of the imminent realm.
Conclusion : There is no immanent meaning of life
