If you run into a burning building, it is because you are motivated: motivation is occurrent. The desire to do something is different than motivation. The motivation is the thing in the moment, where what is happening gives rise to something. Motivation is different from a standing desire (ex. You may have a desire to save your cat and the motivation to do so, so you"ll probably save your cat: motivation is commonly associated with certain feelings.
