Selective attention is a term used by many psychologists to describe this paying- attention-to-something process; however, the word selective is really (cid:396)edu(cid:374)da(cid:374)t atte(cid:374)tio(cid:374) i sele(cid:272)tio(cid:374) of i(cid:374)put. Usually, attention is likened to a filter in an information-processing model of (cid:373)e(cid:373)o(cid:396)(cid:455) the filte(cid:396) s(cid:272)(cid:396)ee(cid:374)s out (cid:373)ost sti(cid:373)uli, (cid:449)hile allo(cid:449)i(cid:374)g a sele(cid:272)t fe(cid:449) to get (cid:271)(cid:455).
