Psych tests tells you how you score relative to other people. They are not measuring what they should be measuring. They are reliable, but they are not valid: content validity, content validity is the degree which the content of. Test is representative of the domain it is supposed to cover; for example. It depends on starting with a clear idea of the hypothetical to be measured, and it usually requires a series of studies that exam the correlation between the test and various measures relates to the trait in the question. As explained in chapter 2, a positive correlation means that two variables co-vary in the same direction; a negative correlation means that to variables co-vary in opposite directions. The closer the correlation coefficient gets to either -1. 00 or +1. 00, the stronger the relationship. At a minimum, reliability estimates for psychological tests must be moderately high positive correlations.
