Broad range creates problems because it doesn"t take into account extreme scores. Doesn"t take into account ambiverts , which are people who are in the middle of either pole . Can chose either people who know the subject or someone that don"t. Mechanical recording device: ear takes 30 second intervals of sound bites. Time to code out the conversation and noise is very long. Not every personality trait comes out in speech. Physiological data: very hard to fake physiological changes, so results are usually accurate. Inter rater: two observers watching same thing must give same score. Internal consistency: responding around the same score for similar questions. Face validity: common sense to see if questions are valid. Convergent: two variables that should score similar, will score similarly. Online research frequently does this type of research.
