Psychotic: delusions or prominent hallucinations, w/ hallucinations occurring in absence of insight into their pathological nature. Could also include prominent hallucinations that individual realizes are hallucinatory experiences. Broader definition would include other positive symptoms of schizophrenia (i. e. disorganized speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behaviour) Delusional disorder, brief psychotic disorder, schizophreniform disorder, Disorder, psychotic disorder due to another medical condition. Catatonia associated w/ another mental disorder, or another medical condition, or unspecified catatonia. Other specified, or unspecified, schizophrenia spectrum & other psychotic disorders. Negative symptoms appear to reflect diminution or loss of normal functions. Delusions: erroneous beliefs that usually involve misrepresentation of perceptions or experience, & resistant to change even in face of conflicting evidence. Hallucinations: perception-like experiences occurring w/o external stimulus.
