Polytheism in the egyptian religion(s) is nothing compared to mesopotamia religion(s) on the gods (they have a lot). Cities have fought for supremacy, during which the gods that were associated with each dominated city had joined the greater pantheon of gods. The gods essentially were amalgamated as each city dominated each other. Similar to isis, ishtar is the babylonian goddess of fertility and life. Chief god of the pantheon: marduk ruler of the gods. There was a battle between marduk and tiamat (a goddess shown as a dragon forces of chaos vs the gods of light and order). Marduk won and that is how the world(s) came to be, In the bible, man was created from (clay from earth god put its breath into the clay to form life) and, In mesopotamian creation myth is (clay from earth and the slaying of a god): a very old way of life creation.
