Socialization- we must learn the rules and norms of a society. We are not born fitting in to our particular culture. We must learn the rules and the norms. Socialization is a lifelong process, socialization is essential for the survival or a society and an individual. Without socialization, we learn that children who aren"t socialized grow into unhealthy adults. (ex. Genie, and anna) early socialization is extremely important. The kind of person we become is linked to the time and kind of society we live in. Socialization starts very young, in some cases before we are born. Most intensive in early childhood. (talking to a pregnant belly) one way we socialize is through gender, learning to be boys or girls. (colors; boys are blue girls are pink. The most influential people for your socialization are your family. We reproduce both good and bad, such as inequality, or kindness.
