: belief sex and gender are binary etc: master narratives to different communities. : huge stories that explain the world, do not necessarily translate: they believe the truth is objective and can be measured, there is more than one way to explain sexuality, there is no single truth. Truth is created in the context in which we live: social life and history defined in terms of fragmentation, discontinuity, and incoherence. Post-structuralism: human agency and open ended social practices, meaning is always unstable and plural, people have many subject positions and different interests that derive from them (ie. woman, wealthy, disabled, immigrant, professor, parent) Center of power: whiteness heterosexuality masculinity/male bodied wealthy/middle class able-bodied , you can tell you are in a position of power when you are never stopped/questioned. Intersectional while you may be strait and white, you may be disabled.
