Although women are included under the umbrella of human, they are effectively excluded from the protection of human rights. Article 2 freedom from discrimination based on race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status . Women continue to be discriminated against in the public and private sector. Women are overwhelmingly responsible for the maintenance of their homes and the raising of and caring for children. Women and girls continue to be the targets of war, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and violence. Women continue to be paid less for the same work. Women continue to be systematically excluded from particular jobs and sectors of the economy, especially from jobs in management and professions gendered male.
