Does not imply that men are the enemy, but offers a space for men to work in concert with women bring about social change. Allows us to imagine a world where domination and exclusions and eradicated. Essentialism: the idea a woman or man can be defined by certain characteristics. Sex: biology, what"s between the legs , visible differences, gender characteristics are assigned. Gender: mental (doesn"t have to correspond with sex), cultural identifier, socially and historically made assumptions ex. What men or women do in a marriage, appropriate roles. Gender is cultural, it reflects how social categories for males and females are shown.
