Does not imply that men are the enemy, but offers a space for men to work in concert with women bring about social change. Allows us to imagine a world where domination and exclusions and eradicated. Help us understand ourselves and the world we live in. Women should be able to work in all sectors of the economy. Men who choose to stay home with their kids should not be judged. Essentialism: the idea a woman or man can be defined by certain characteristics. Sex: biology, what"s between the legs , visible differences, gender characteristics are assigned. Gender: mental (doesn"t have to correspond with sex), cultural identifier, socially and historically made assumptions ex. What men or women do in a marriage, appropriate roles. Gender is cultural, it reflects how social categories for males and females are shown.
