Series of small cards plugged into slots on the motherboard. Volatile storage, deletes when you turn off pc. Storing data and information: permanent storing is located in drive bay. There are 2 kinds of drive bay, internal and external. Newer ones along with tvs dvd players, projectors connect to digital video interface and s-video ports. If no expansion slats on the motherboard, you can add an expansion hub that connects to one port to add new ports. Can also add ports to an empty drive bay.
