Protected access (wpa), both using encryption, translating data into code. Wpa is stronger than wep: create a passphrase: forced to create a security encryption key, a passphrase. It will be required to decrypt (decode) data transmissions: implement media access control (mac): each network adapter on network has a unique number (like a serial number) assigned by manufacturer, called a media. Access control address = restricting network to only few mac: limit your signal range: lower signal to home range only, apply firmware upgrades: router has read-only memory w/ software written to it, called firmware.
