COMM 210 Lecture 7: Lesson 7 --Handy
Document Summary
Claim: the secret to constant growth is to start a new curve before the other one starts declining. Paradox of success: things that got you where you are, are not often those things that keep you there. This is similar to greiner with evolution and revolution and how a solution tends to end up being a problem! By the time you know where you actually have to go in order to grow, it"ll be too late and most of the time you"ll continue going the way you are already going. When you start losing money, it"s hard to restore the credibility your employees had for you (as well as customers). The second curve must be a new product, way of operating, strategy, and culture!!! A good leader is one who is able to make understand his staff that a new curve is needed (at point a and not at point b when it is too late!)
